Today, we visited 北京大学 and 清华大学, both top universities in China. We were greeted by several Singaporean tour guides who brought us around, introducing us to the universities and giving us an idea of their university life here in Beijing. Most of them are alumnis from Hwa Chong Institution. One of them is an alumni from our very own St Nicks! (Her CCA was CLDDS! :D I was so glad to hear that.)

The university environment was very impressive. They have their own grocery stores, hospitals and hostels within the school compound. 北京大学 even have its own 澡堂 (Spa Center)! As the compound of the schools are huge, the students actually travel with bicycles. How cool is that. ;D The professors/lecturers in the schools are very good too. One of the Biology professors was so amazing that the school gave him a whole block of building to himself for his experiments. D: The buildings in 清华大学 was interesting. 清华大学 has been around even before WWII, which hence explained the structure of of the buildings some being very 西方 and some rather 东方.

In simple words, the schools were magnificent. We didn't even walked 1/3 of both schools yet our soles hurt from walking. It actually took us half a day to visit these two universities.

All of us did our first laundry in BSC today! Saturday is our official laundry day, a day when we can dump all our dirty clothes into the washing machine! :D
